Your story of last week concerning the new Ealing Dean CPZ and the problems people living on the fringes of this CPZ are now experiencing were portrayed very accurately.

As a resident of Lancaster Gardens I can confirm life around these streets has become very unpleasant. The increase in traffic with commuters prowling the area looking for a parking space and the inconvenience of often not being able to park within a couple of streets of where we live, as once a space is vacated it is almost immediately taken by someone who will not move their car until they have finished work, are all too real.

Your story featured Rob Grant, a fit looking young man. If he is having problems in this area, imagine how much worse it is for mothers with young children, the elderly and disabled.

It is true that most people in this area were against a CPZ, but unfortunately the situation has got so bad we now feel that the only solution is to have a CPZ as soon as possible.

However, even though a huge majority of residents have signed a petition asking for their road to be included, our elected council have been very slow to respond and now appear to be taking notice of what the electorate are asking only under extreme pressure, although we still have no guarantee that they will act quickly to resolve this parking nightmare.
