New police base to open in Alperton this week

A new Met Police base will open in Alperton with room for 400 officers and 100 vehicles.

A new police base will be opened by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner later this week.

The Alperton Deployment Base replaces, and was built on the site of, the Metropolitan Police's old Alperton traffic garage in Athlon Road, Alperton, and accommodates a minimum of 400 staff members and 100 vehicles.

It will accommodate the traffic unit, the Territorial Support Group - the riot police - previously housed at Finchley Traffic Garage in High Road, Finchley, and the dogs section, which will be moving from West Drayton Police Station in Station Road, West Drayton.
