Mattock Lane Pharmacy has reopened after major improvements and the modernisation of services.

The refurbishment journey, which started four months ago, came to its end on Thursday last week (November 28) in a celebration with MP for Ealing Central, Angie Bray, and about 100 guests and patients.

The Ealing pharmacy will provide new and existing services including smoking cessation clinics, weight management, emergency contraception, healthy lifestyle tests and advice, travel medicine and medication reviews.

The concept of forward dispensing has been introduced, which is a robot that stocks, counts and dispenses medicines processed at the till in front of the customer, greatly increasing the efficiency while significantly reducing waiting time.

Hiten Patel, owner and superintendent pharmacist, said: “I started this pharmacy nearly 28 years ago and this is the most ambitious re-fit out of the three that we have done so far.

“The aim is to provide the residents of Ealing with a cutting edge healthcare resource, filled with different services and with space to provide privacy to our patients for various consultations in a bright, fresh and clinical environment.”

He added: “We also have an excellent relationship with our local medical practice and with the GPs at Mattock Lane Health Centre down the road.”

Angie Bray, MP for Ealing Central and Acton, said: “Since opening, Mattock Lane Pharmacy has always provided a vital service for the community. With all the additional services on offer here and after an impressive refurbishment, it really is more than a dispensary – it’s what a modern pharmacy should be like.

“Pharmacists have an important role to play in helping ease the pressure on other parts of our health service and Hiten and Ragini Patel are doing a wonderful job.”
