Looking like something out of an IKEA brochure, a new Natural Birth Centre is taking shape at West Middlesex Hospital.

The red building (pictured) is made up of a number of units, which was delivered on site over last weekend having been constructed elsewhere.

They will now be fitted together by builders and the centre, which will include a birthing pool and deep baths, is set to open in the autumn.

The Isleworth hospital's maternity services deliver more than 3,800 babies to local families every year and the Natural Birth Centre will allow this number to increase by around 1,000 a year.

West Middlesex also recently launched The Stork Appeal charity, which aims to raise s100,000 to further improve maternity services.

Some of the fundraising activities include a quiz night and a recipe book with foreword by celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson.
