Nature lovers celebrated the official opening of a new trail which offers a wonderful walk.

The Litten Nature Reserve in Oldfield Lane South, Greenford , is a small reserve with woods, a meadow and ponds, considered by locals to be a gem in the middle of a built up area.

It is used by Belvue School, Northolt , as an open air classroom, and the Friends of the Litten Reserve group is working towards getting more schools to visit and be at one with nature.

The trail, which is now open for everyone, is complete with information boards.

There is a minibeast area with a bug hotel and a stag beetle home with interaction areas for children to search for insects under logs.

The official opening was on June 7.
