Southall Labour Party and our local MP Mr Virendra Sharma have circulated twice around the constituency coloured leaflets extolling the virtues of Labour councils and the good they have done in Southall.

I cannot comment on most of them due to too little detail. Two, I must. First the new toilets for Southall "having been in storage for years". I take it that means during the last Labour administration.

Next, Spikes Bridge Sport Park. I have just taken a walk around it (the first for 50 years). A wide open space with just a running track (that needs some attention) and a very good children's play area, very adventurous.

The grass is cut occasionally, the rest is just left. There is a new fence on the west side of the neglected and vandalised tennis court, for what reason I know not as the south end wire is collapsing and the north end holed.

It would seem to me that the park has been ignored by all the previous councils for a very long time.
