A pensioner accused of organising the murder of a Somalian who spat on a bus claimed he only wanted to have the teenager arrested, the Old Bailey heard today (Thur).
Drunken Fuad Buraleh, 19, of Clayton Road, Hayes, was attacked in an Ealing park in January after the argument with Carl Cadogan, 67, who is said to have rounded up his son Myles, 24, and his friend to batter him to death.
The 'disgusting and obnoxious' teenager spat on the floor and when Cadogan complained his cousin, Mahdi Jama, 20, spat in his face, the court heard.
In interviews with police Cadogan admitted he had called his son on his mobile from the bus travelling through Ealing after the incident and said: 'I need you.'
Cadogan, from Hanwell, Myles from Brondesbury, Lee Beavis, 26, of Windermere Avenue, Eastcote, Scott Baker, 21, of Long Drive, South Ruislip, Anthony Sheehan, 22, from Northolt and Richard O'Donoghue, 23, from Hanwell, all deny murder and violent disorder.
The trial continues.
