MARKS and Spencer in Uxbridge is to be refurbished again - the second time in three years.

The company confirmed its store, in The Mall and with a High Street entrance, will be part of a general upgrade of the company's shops across the country.

It was refitted in 2010 along with a number of other stores, although many fewer than will be upgraded this time, and it will be given a new colour scheme and a higher profile for its Per Una womenswear brand.

The store will also have a bigger and better bakery.

No timetable has been put on the work, other than it will start this year.

"It's going to be very much about improving the layout and creating abetter shopping experience throughout the store," said an M&S spokeswoman.
