STAFF at Marks & Spencer have raised more than £3,000 for West Middlesex Hospital's special care baby unit.

Employees at the company's Staines branch collected a total of £3,347 during 2009 for the hospital in Twickenham Road, Isleworth, by organising a karaoke night, Christmas raffle and much more.

The money has been used to buy equipment including a new laptop and projector to help teach parents vital skills for when their children leave the unit.

Elaine Gough, who presented the cheque last week, nominated the unit as her store's charity of the year because it was where she had her son 24 years ago.

Ward manager Siew Koay said: "We are so grateful to the team at Marks & Spencer in Staines for their hard work in raising this money."
