TORY Party activist Hasan Ali Imam says we should judge local Labour MP Ann Keen by her record on health (Chronicle, June 12).
Yes, let's do that. Mrs Keen works very hard in her capacity as a health minister and has played a major role in the following Government successes:
Free prescription for all cancer-related drugs.
1,000 new midwives.
1,000 new health visitors.
A new hospital on the site of the West Mid.
Ann Keen's own personal achievements include:
Being named a 'Public Figure of the year' by Cancerbackup.
Honorary doctorate and professorships for her work in nursing.
Through-the-night 13-mile half-marathon "Moonwalk" for a breast cancer charity (not bad for someone in her 60s).
If Mr Imam and the Tories want health to be the key election issue, then all I can say is "bring it on".
