It was interesting to see the news that two of Ealing's MPs have resigned their junior ministerial roles.
However there are a number of matters this raises.
There are many more ministerial jobs now than there were in the 1980s - so a lot of these junior ministerial roles are, in the world or politics, not much more than the proverbial paper round.
I wonder if Sharma, with more free time, who is a councillor in Southall, actually attends a few more council meetings than the legal minimum he currently attends.
He is letting down the residents who elected him and this gives democracy in Ealing a bad name.
We saw how Andrew Slaughter and Labour belatedly changed their mind on the mad tram plan for Ealing. It would look like they are saying they are against Heathrow expansion because they are afraid of losing a future election.
So the last question is - why has the outspoken Stephen Pound decided to support Heathrow when the evidence is that expansion will bring more noise and pollution to Ealing and West London?
