BOTH the Harrow Labour MPs voted to keep their lucrative expenses in the House of Commons recently.

The Conservative MP for Ruislip and Northwood, in contrast, did not vote in favour (the large majority of those in favour were from Labour).

These controversial 'John Lewis' expenses have contributed to the bringing of politics into disrepute, and the local Labour MPs should not have voted to keep this.

I myself work for free for the constituency, with help from volunteers. Of course MPs should get a fair wage, but these expense claims, which MPs have been using to buy new kitchens and patio plants, among other things, are not appropriate.
