Earlier, we heard about traffic chaos in South Ruislip. An apparent fault in the traffic light system at the junction of Long Drive and Victoria Road has left roads gridlocked during rush hour each morning and drivers have been airing their frustration on social media.

Reader Claire Simpson has since contacted Get West London to tell us a set of temporary lights in Uxbridge means roads near to the town centre have their own fare share of tailbacks.

She said: "A temporary set of traffic lights on the Mahjacks roundabout that are out of sync causing half hour traffic jam to get onto the roundabout from St Andrews Roundabout.

"It doesn't help with the closure of the bridge over the canal at the sorting office as all traffic from the Uxbridge Industrial Estate now has to enter from one direction."

Mrs Simpson uses the junction between Trumper Way and Rockingham Road to get to work each day, and said her normal 15 minute journey now takes up to an hour.

She said the lights have been in use for a couple of weeks, but have been particularly bad for the past few days.

"With the extra traffic having to use the junction it is just a total nightmare. Even when I finish work at 2pm you end up in a que trying to get back onto the Mahjacks roundabout.

"This week has been the worst by far," she said.
