A one-legged man is still on the run after escaping from a court.

Michael Hill of Ferrymead Avenue, Greenford, broke free from three prison escort officers in the back yard of Ealing Magistrates Court, in Green Man Lane, where he had appeared charged with burglary.

The 28-year-old even gave a police helicopter and dogs the slip, disappearing into the night at about 4pm yesterday (20).

Officers raided a number of homes associated with him, including a flat in the Green Man Estate, but came up empty-handed.

A witness said: "I was surprised to hear he only had one leg because he was running at some speed chased by two prison officers.

"He ran into the Singapore Road car park towards the Green Man Estate, in West Ealing, chased by two prison escort officers.

"Then about two police vans and three police cars turned up and joined in."
