A dead body found in found floating in a canal is believed to be that of missing Southall man Mohammed Khalif.

Police and the man's family had issued an appeal after growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of the 24-year-old, who vanished in the run up to Christmas.

Mr Khalif, who lived in Northcote Road and suffered from epilepsy, was last seen leaving Ealing Hospital on Sunday, December 21, at about 2.15pm. He did not have his prescribed medication with him.

A body was found on Tuesday, December 23, at about 12:50m in the canal at Transport Avenue, Brentford.

A post-mortem examination was held at Fulham Mortuary on Monday, although a formal identification it still to take place.
