Four young musicians from Hounslow are among more than 200 acts vying to be crowned London's best busker in this year's Gigs Big Busk competition.

You can see some of the shortlisted acts perform live this Saturday, August 16 in Bell Square, Hounslow.

But for those who can't make it along, here are a few facts the musicians from Hounslow, including one who speaks four languages and another who has only boarded a plane once - to jump out of it!

Heloise Burland, 23, Turnham Green

School/college/job?

Currently looking for PR/events jobs in London, but I am also a student at Bournemouth University.

Where are you playing for Gigs?

Well the performances themselves have now ended, but I will be performing at Bell Square on Friday, August 16 at 6.30pm as part of a showcase they're putting on. But until now Gigs has allowed me to play at Regent Street, St Paul's Churchyard, Liverpool Street station, Charing Cross mainline station, King's Cross station and Westfield Shepherd's Bush.

Biggest gig so far?

Ooh that has to be when I performed at Camden. It's every musician's dream to perform at Camden. And the bonus was that I was on a stage with an amazing sound system; I had never heard my music sound so beautiful! As an artist you have little 'click' moments along the way telling you that you are one the right path or that you can now call yourself an artist. That was definitely one of them.

Dream gig?

I have always dreamt of performing at the Roxy in LA, before I'd even admitted to myself that I wanted to sing and create music for a living. So that's a definite must. It would be absolutely amazing to perform there.

Musical style?

Indie rock. I know it's always hard to define what indie is, but although my music has a rock influence there is definitely something else there, and it can only be defined as 'indie'. I love classical music too so I think that's what helped create the indie side.

Biggest musical inspiration?

One? I can't just name one. I always say my influences are Blink-182, Sarah McLachlan and JS Bach - the first influenced me to perform, the second to write my own music and the last to compose. But as far as inspiration goes I think I have to say Pink. I love what she has done with her career and I think she is one of the most talented people in the world. I definitely look up to her a lot.

Interesting fact?

I grew up in France - I don't know if that's an interesting fact or not!

Doll Fair (real name Sylvana Wartemberg), 23, Hounslow West

School/college/job?

First I studied at  'The Brit School of Performing Arts'. My very young teacher who was a recent graduate used to go on about how she was friends with Adele. I then went to Guildford School Of Acting. I studied to be a West End performer at these places for five years straight so have my national diploma and BA hons degree in singing, dancing and acting. Right now I work  at T.K.Maxx jewellery counter and really enjoy it because I get to look at pretty sparkly things all day

Where are you playing for Gigs?

I play in different places in and around central London

Biggest gig so far?

Guildford Chancellors bar, the place was packed and it was my very first gig! The audience was great though

Dream gig?

I would love to play at Glastonbury. The energy just seems electric and there's nothing quite like a big stage on an open space with a wild audience!

Musical style?

Pop through and through

Biggest musical inspiration?

I would say I was never really impressed with those women with great big voices who just stand there and sing. My three main influences growing up were Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears. I idolized these women. They dance, wear tiny outfits and put on a great show and that's my definition of a pop star. I would definitely like to put on a great big show one day

Interesting fact?

I was born in London, I'm originally from Ghana, have a Latin name, a Dutch surname and learnt American English. Can't get more international than that!
