IT WAS a day of fun and games for the residents of a sheltered care home in Acton last Friday.

Torkington House residential care home in Creswick Road, put on an annual summer party for the residents, their families and staff.

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Rajinder Mann and Angie Bray MP were invited for the afternoon, as well as the chief executive of the home, Kate James and head of trustees, David Ballard.

There was music performed throughout the day and everyone took part in the games, including guess the weight of the cake and name the doll.

Around 60 people turned out and everyone was photographed and given a framed picture as a memento of the day.

Natalie St Lewis, deputy manager at Torkington, said: "Everyone had a great time and were all in high spirits. The residents enjoyed it thoroughly and it was a brilliant afternoon."
