A REPORT aimed at easing congestion and protecting pedestrians and drivers has been completed by West Ealing Neighbours (WEN).

The residents' group has completed its report on the Lido Junction in West Ealing and is now waiting to hear if Ealing Council support the recommendations.

David Highton, chairman of WEN, said: "Hopefully it will be the start of a dialogue between us and Ealing Council.

"We want the council's support as Transport for London control the traffic lights that run the site. The aim is to make the site as safe as possible."

Recommendations in the report include introducing an all-red stop phase at the junction to allow pedestrians to cross all four arms at the same time.

There is also a proposal to extend the current controlled parking zone west along Alexandria and Felix Road.

The report suggests to improvements to the cycle routes that go through West Ealing and proposes a new-north south bus route from Tesco in Perivale to West Middlesex Hospital.

"This route would link together the stations at West Ealing and Northfields; Tesco at Perivale, Waitrose at West Ealing and Morrisons at Brentford; the leisure centre at Gurnell Pool and the Watermans Centre in Brentford.

Mr Highton said: "We've passed it to the council so now we must wait to hear back from them.

The report is published on the group's website at westealingneighbours@gmail.com or in writing to 32 Regina Road, West Ealing, London W13 9EF.
