Police were called to reports of a cash-in-transit robbery outside Barclays bank in south Ealing today (October 16).

Officers were called to the branch in South Ealing Road at about 10.45am, where two men wearing balaclavas, one holding a hammer, jumped out of a car, stole a box from a security guard and drove away.

The security guard was not injured and there have been no arrests at this stage.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The vehicle was found abandoned in Clayponds Avenue, Ealing. Police believe the suspects may have got into another vehicle. Enquiries continue.

"Anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident or saw these men in Clayponds Avenue is asked to call police on 101 quoting CRIS 2525619/14. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via  www.crimestoppers-org.co.uk "
