A Stanmore man is aiming to complete two marathons within two weeks to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jonathan Evan-Hughes, 43, ran the Abingdon Marathon on October 19 in under four hours, and takes on the New York Marathon on Sunday (November 2).
He said: "It's not recomended to run two marathons in two weeks, but I'm in good health and have suffered no injuries from the previous run.
"I've had fantastic interest and support, which keeps me focused."
Mr Evan-Hughes, of St Edmunds Drive, Stanmore, is hoping to raise more than £3,000 in support of the charity and has so far managed £1,800 in donations from friends, family and work collegues.
His employer, BP, has promised to match whatever amount he raises.
He will be running the marathon with his friend Barry Nolan, 40, of Irvine Avenue, Kenton, who is hoping to raise £1,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
While Mr Evan-Hughes has been running marathons for several years now, Mr Nolan has only recently taken up the activity and will be attempting a personal best by breaking the four-hour barrier.
