A BODY has been discovered in the river at Crane Park, in Whitton.
A man was pulled from the river near Crane Park Island, by the shot tower on Monday morning, the Chronicle has learned.
Police were called shortly after 11am and the man was recovered by the Maring Policing Unit before being pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers believe they know the man's identity but are awaiting formal identification. The death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow afternoon.
