A GROUP of Manchester United fans from Greenford are appealing for the safe return for their missing flag.

The Red Devils supporters had taken their 10ft by 5ft flag - which is inscribed 'When I die and go to hell, the devil and I will get on well' - to a party at Goals in Alperton Road, Wembley, on Friday July 26.

They realised to their horror that it had been left in a bag inside their cab, but a call to the taxi firm failed to find it.

Jonathan Nolandhatt, one of the owners, said: "The flag has a huge sentimental value, as it has travelled with us the length of the country and as far as Turkey. It was to be used at a party as everyone knows it is associated with us, but on leaving the party we got in a cab and it was left in a bag in that cab. We have had no luck in finding it and are worried it could be offered for sale. Its is ten feet wide so should not be hard to miss."

The flag was hand made by a woman who travels to watch Manchester United and cost a lot to make, so multiple people clubbed together to buy it.

Mr Nolandhatt said it had been to nearly every ground in Premier League and been abroad to Champions League Games. He has been keeping an eye on eBay in case it appears for sale there and has sent word to other United fans up and down the country.

A reward is offered if the flag is returned. Anyone with any information can contact Mr Nolandhatt at Thisndhatt@hotmail.co.uk
