A man who helped implement several road safety improvements across Hillingdon received his OBE last week.

Jack Webster, traffic services manager at Hillingdon Council, has worked there for over 21 years, and has introduced a number of pedestrian crossings, speed programmes and parking schemes to the borough's roads.

He said: "It is a huge honour to be awarded an OBE and fantastic to be recognised in this way.

"It is important to me to be making a positive difference to our borough, listening to what residents want and making our roads as safe as possible."
