A 31-year-old man is in a stable condition after being stabbed in Cranford in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday, June 8) morning.

Police said they were called to the scene in Bath Road, between the junctions with Waye Avenue and Berkeley Avenue, at 2.10am to reports of a group of men fighting.

Officers found a man with a single stab wound, who was taken 'as a priority' to a central London hospital, where a police spokesman said he remains in a stable condition. No arrests have been made in connection with the assault, which is being investigated by Hounslow CID.

It comes less than a week after Feltham & Heston MP Seema Malhotra spoke out against knife crime in the Hounslow borough, and called on police, schools and the council to address the issue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency police number 101 or Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

A member of the public reported seeing 'a lot of blood' outside Rocky's, near the junction with Waye Avenue yesterday morning.

However, a spokesman at the store has said he understands a fight occurred near Domino's and the victim was then taken to a cash point at Tesco with a knife to his throat.

This is the fifth stabbing in the borough in less than two months, including the fatal stabbing of Jamil Palmer in Hanworth.
