A man has been charged with grevious bodily harm, dangerous driving and possession of cannabis after a woman pedestrian was hit by a car.

Mitesh Patel, 23, of Northolt, appeared at Brent Magistrates' Court on Monday in connection with the hit-andrun at the Ealing Road junction with Bridgewater Road, Wembley, on Saturday.

Police were called at 11.30pm following reports of an argument involving a large gang and two motorists.

They discovered an injured 19-year-old woman, and believe she had been assaulted before being hit by a vehicle which had left the scene.

A Ford Ka was later found in Carlyon Road, Alperton, before Mr Patel and a 24-year-old woman were arrested.

Mr Patel was remanded in custody until December, and the 24-year-old woman was bailed to return pending further investigation.
