A 27-year-old man died this morning following a fall from a balcony at Heathrow Terminal 1.

The young male was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel on Tuesday afternoon after falling from the first-floor balcony.

Police have said he died in the early hours today and at present the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) immediately sent three cycle responders, followed by two ambulance crews, a first response car, a duty manager and an air ambulance to the scene.

A LAS spokesman said: "We got a call at 3.15pm on Tuesday of reports of a fall from Heathrow's T1. Staff treated a 27-year-old man for serious injuries and he was flown to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel by the air ambulance."

An inquest into his death will be opened and adjourned today.
