A defendant has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnap and false imprisonment after a man was held hostage in Glenalmond Road in Kenton.
Dipeshkumar Chauhan, 27, of Elmsleigh Avenue, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also included blackmail for a ransom of £20 million Indian Rupees (£278,061).
The charges date back to October 2008 when a man in his 20s was kidnapped and imprisoned at a house in Kenton. The man was held for five days from October 16-21 before armed officers broke down the door of the house and stormed the building.
At the time police confirmed the hostage received treatment for minor injuries after the incident.
Chauhan has been remanded in custody and his trial will start at Southwark Crown Court, in London, on April 20.
