A part-time DJ has admitted to masturbating in front of a mother with her toddler and rubbing up against women as he watched pornography on his phone.

Victor Busby, 25, of Shepherd’s Bush, admitted at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (October 8) to exposing himself and committing an act of outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner.

The court heard how the builder and part-time DJ was in an outdoor communal area in Ashcroft Square, King Street, Hammersmith at around 7.30pm on January 25 this year when he indecently exposed himself while masturbating in front of a woman who was with her two-year-old child. She immediately screamed for help and Busby ran away. Police were called and officers carried out an extensive forensic search of the area but were not able to trace him at the time.

Then on September 30 he was seen by in-store security guards and on CCTV in the large Primark store in King Street, Hammersmith, brushing up against female shoppers. At the same time he was masturbating and watching pornography on a mobile phone. Police were called and he was arrested at the scene, and while in police custody, the DNA taken from him was a positive match linking him to the January incident.

Busby was booked for both offences and remanded in custody. He is back in custody and will appear at a west London Crown Court, with a location and date yet to be confirmed.

By coincidence the case has come to light on the same week that a man from Feltham found himself in the dock accused of masturbating in court.

Detective Constable Will Garton said of the Busby case: "There is no doubt that the overwhelming evidence against Busby has lead to his guilty plea. His behaviour has clearly caused distress and alarm amongst unsuspecting women in public places.

"This conviction sends a clear message that the police will use every resource available to establish the best evidence to bring before the courts. Crimes of this nature have no place in Hammersmith and Fulham and our commitment to keeping our communities safe is stronger then ever."
