A man had to be talked down from the roof of intu Uxbridge shopping centre after climbing up in the early hours of the morning today (Friday).

He was finally talked down at about 11am. Uxbridge High Street was partly closed.

Hillingdon Police say the man, aged 32 and who is known to officers, had climbed up from Uxbridge High Street on to Waterstones book shop.

A police negotiator was called to the scene and London Ambulance Service was alerted.

In October 2013 a man died after a fall from the upper floor of the shopping centre’s car park.
