A man has been accused of raping a woman in her 80s while robbing her house in west London.

Robert Lashley, of Blythe Road, in Brook Green , has been charged with the rape of the pensioner and of burglary.

It is not known where the pensioner's home is but police confirmed the attack was at around 8am on Saturday (August 16) in west London and the woman physically did not suffer any serious injuries.

The 32-year-old man appeared at a short hearing at Hammersmith Magistrates Court this morning (August 18).

He has been remanded in custody and magistrates committed him to return to Isleworth Crown Court on September 2.
