A man has been charged with actual bodily harm after a woman was attacked in a Northolt home.

Sivapalan Sithamparanathan, 36, of Wood End Gardens, was charged on Thursday (May 29) and appeared at Ealing Magistrates’ Court the following day (May 30) where he was remanded in custody.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police Service said he will appear at Harrow Crown Court on June 9.

This incident happened the night after a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 38-year-old woman in Merton Avenue, Northolt, and this man has now been charged with murder.

The two incidents are not connected.

MP for Ealing North, Steve Pound, said: “The tragic and horrific murder that was comitteed in Merton Avenue and the serious assault in Wood End Gardens should not lead anyone to think that there is something wrong in Northolt.

“It is a terrible truth that such horrors can occur anywhere but for me the fact that in both cases the local community rallied round to support the families and their neighbours proves that this is a good community.

“Local people should have our sympathy, understanding and support but it is in times of trial that the best show their colours and that is the case in Merton Avenue and Wood End Gardens.”
