A man was bundled into the boot of his own car, kidnapped and tortured by three robbers in Wembley.
The 34-year-old was returning to his home in Bowrons Avenue when he was approached by the men, who demanded money.
The victim tried to get away but one of the suspects then threw him into the back of a white Ford Transit van and he was driven to an unknown location where he was left for around two hours. He was then taken back to his house.
The kidnappers tried to open the front door of his home but it was locked from inside. They then bundled him into the boot of his own blue Rover and took him on a drive which lasted two hours.
The victim was then taken back to his house and told to get a sum of money in half an hour and to not call the police, while the kidnappers waited at the end of his road.
During his ordeal, which took place on May 22 at 11pm, the victim suffered a knife wound to his cheek and a split ear.
He was taken to hospital where he stayed for a couple of hours and was then released. His car, which has the registration W989 FBE, has not been found.
Detective Sergeant Ted Salter from Wembley CID said: "This was a frightening incident for the victim and the motive was robbery.
"Having spoken with witnesses I understand that an Asian couple were in the street at the time. I urge that this couple come forward as they may have seen something that could be vital to the investigation.
"I would urge them or anyone else who saw this incident or the vehicle to contact me. Any calls will be treated in the strictest confidence."
All three suspects are described as black and wore dark clothing. One was wearing a mask over his face.
