A man armed with a knife has barricaded himself into staff accommodation above a pub in Ealing.
Police were called at about 2.50pm to the scene at The Plough Inn, Northfields Avenue.
A spokesman from the Metropolitan Police Service said: "We believe the man is alone. Officers including a police negotiator are at the scene."
An ambulance also arrived at about 4.30pm.
Update 8pm: We are getting reports that the situation has normalised and will be making further enquiries to establish the full details.
