A man has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a licence or insurance.
Marvin Weir,25, of Brent, appeared at Brent Magistrates' court on Monday, and has been bailed to reappear on August 8 pending further enquiries.
The man he allegedly hit, aged 76, had been crossing Harrow Road in Wembley, near Sudbury roundabout on Saturday.
He was airlifted to hospital with severe head injuries but is now said to be in a stable condition.
