Drivers can expect long delays at the Chiswick roundabout after further traffic light failure this morning.

For the second day running motorists are experiencing queuing traffic on the A406 in Chiswick, in both directions at the M4 J1, due to a fault with the lights.

A number of major roads are affected in all directions as a result including Chiswick roundabout, Great West Road, Gunnesbury Avenue (North Circular Road) and Surrey Crescent.

Tailbacks are also causing congestion onto the A205 Mortlake Road to Kew Green and to the Hillcrest Road junction.

Transport for London have described the problem as an 'infrastructure issue' and said 'the traffic lights at this location have a fault.'

The latest update on the TfL website says: "The traffic on the A406 is slow moving southbound on approach to Chiswick Roundabout with tailbacks to Queens Parade.

"Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.

"Expect delays."

From next week four major roads in west London will be closed or partially closed for repair works  causing traffic chaos to motorists.
