TOLERANCE is the golden quality which has led to 50 years of marriage for one still happy couple.
More than 100 people celebrated Anna and Patrick Maloney's anniversary, including family who had flown over from Australia, at the West Middlesex Golf Club in Greenford Road, Southall.
The pair met at a tea dance in a hall which used to be behind Barclays bank in the Mall, Ealing Broadway, about four years before their marriage.
The couple were 21 and 20-years-old when they tied the knot, they now have five children and 11 grandchildren, the oldest being 22, and have lived in the same house, in Egerton Gardens, West Ealing, since 1966.
Mrs Maloney said: It was a wonderful evening with our family and so many friends we've known during the 50 years.
"The secret to a long marriage is just to be tolerant, put up with each other and love one another."
