London's newest open air stage will get a baptism of fire tomorrow - literally - as it hosts a show featuring pyrotechnics and tango.

The renowned French theatre troupe Cie Bilbobasso will take to Bell Square, just west of Hounslow High Street, at 9.30pm to perform Polar.

The hour-long production, which will be repeated at the same time the following night, a romantic thriller combining dance, music and pyrotechnics.

Polar kicks off a summer of free shows at the new venue, created as part of a £2.75 million regeneration of Hounslow High Street.

Watermans Arts Centre in Brentford has lined up a different performance every fortnight between now and August, from aerial acrobatics to a busking showcase.

Hounslow Council's new leader Steve Curran said: "The opening of Bell Square is just the start of an exciting new era of opportunity in Hounslow.

"Along with the renewal of Hounslow High Street, we have some fantastic new developments coming on line over the next few years including Brentford Football Club, Hounslow’s High Street Quarter and a new vision to rejuvenate the Golden Mile."
