Were you at the Mela? We want to hear from you in our interactive review

The sixth London Mela celebrating South Asian arts and culture turned the serene Gunnersbury Park into a hive of activity for all the family over the weekend.

The rain did not deter the mood as thousands of people flocked into west London for the biggest Asian festival outside India with attractions ranging from urban, experimental and traditional music to food from around the world, dancers and a giant funfair.

Yesterday's event boasted a sensational line-up with acts such as The Rishi Rich Project, Raghav and Jassi Sidhu entertaining from the main stage. On the other side of the park the London Flavas stage did not disappoint with the best of urban acts such as Taio Cruz taking on the crowd.

But it was in the Asian Network Mix Tent that Panjabi Hit Squad stole the show as young and old alike danced and chanted in unison the momentum even captured live on the radio.

Anita Bhalla, 21, from Hounslow said: "The Mela has been amazing so far. The best one to date I loved Panjabi Hit Squad because they got everyone so excited and in the summer spirit even though it was pouring!"

The event supported by the Mayor of London was a day of extravagance that showcased Londons vibrant multi-culturalism. Put it in your diaries for next year.
