Lead singer of successful band, London Grammar, Hannah Reid has gone from wanting to become an actress at school in Ealing to being nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the BRIT awards.

Born in Acton, the 24-year-old has risen to fame this year alongside band mates, guitarist Dan Rothman and drummer Dominic Major who she met at the University of Nottingham where she studied after leaving Notting Hill and Ealing High, in Ealing and Bute House Prep School in Hammersmith.

Hannah originally wanted to become an actress after winning a drama scholarship at school but had chronic stage fright which Dan managed to help her get over at university to form the successful band London Grammar has become today.

The band's debut album, If You Wait has sold 265,000 copies since reaching number two in the UK charts on its release last September.

With appearances across the globe, from Australia's Byron Bay to Bestival in the Isle of Wight, they are in high demand.

Watch the BRIT awards on ITV from 8pm to 10:15pm tonight to find out how Chiswick's Hannah Reid and her fellow London Grammar bandmates fare.
