A brave young boy from Feltham has defied all odds and returned home after a successful brain tumour operation in Germany.

Six-year-old Matthias Plewka and parents Tomasz and Joanna have had the toughest four years of their lives but finally received the best news ever after initial scans showed their son's tumour had been fully removed.

Following the £50,000 life-saving surgery and three weeks in recovery the family have flown back home and are now calling for your continued support to help find a physiotherapist, and further donations for Matthias' ongoing rehabilitation.

Mother-of-two Mrs Plewka, 32, of Parkfield Road, said: "Matthias feels well, there are no seizures which before surgery were so big.

"Matt’s speech has also improved after the surgery and thanks to three weeks of rehabilitation in Germany his right leg is much better.

"We are at the stage of seeking a good clinic with equipment that will finally help Matthias walk normally and move the hand.

"The NHS is not able to give Matthias physiotherapy, which will help him.

"Do you know a good clinic in London, which has professional equipment and helps children after surgery? We will greatly appreciate any information.

And we continue raising money for Matthias’s rehabilitation! Thank you for being with us!"

The Plewka's were devastated when they found out their son had an incurable brain tumour in 2010 and decided they would go to any lengths to save their eldest child.

After an operation removed part of his tumour, two bouts of chemotherapy, and having a large cyst removed, the family took their battle abroad as there was nothing anyone could do here in the UK.

In June this year Matthias' health drastically deteriorated and doctors discovered his tumour was growing.

The family used the donations, turned to their closest friends for money, and took out a bank loan to fund the life-saving operation at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hanover.

Now to ensure Matthias stays on the road to recovery he urgently needs to continue physio privately and receive full post surgery treatment and rehabilitation.

Any funds that are not used for Matthias will go to the Luna's Little Star charity.
