YOUR online story describing Mimi Konigsberg, Hounslow’s Director of Community Services, as an “axe woman” did a huge disservice to a public servant who has worked tirelessly to improve adult social care in the borough.

As you know, the closures were the result of swingeing Government cuts that forced us to make budget savings of £60m over four years.  It was not a decision we took lightly, and required a complete review and transformation of the way we deliver adult social services, a challenge that Mimi rose to.

Unfortunately the article largely ignored Mimi’s years of work championing adult social care, her excellent work to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable groups in our community, and her commitment to delivering the highest standards of service to residents.
