Traineeships and apprenticeship schemes are on offer for youngsters interested in the leisure industry.

Everyone Active, who operate the Acton Centre, Southall Sports Centre and Northolt Leisure Centre, and Lifetime Training apprenticeship courses, are offering 10 week expenses-paid programmes to 16-24 year olds.

The programmes will provide a mix of work experience in customer service, health and fitness roles and recreation as well as some technical and employability skills training and a Leisure Operations qualification.

An assessment day is being held on October 1 at Harrow Leisure Centre for anyone interested in taking part in the programmes running from October 13 at Acton Leisure Centre , Harrow Leisure Centre, Southall Sports Centre, Northolt Leisure Centre, Hatch End Swimming Pool and Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre.

On successful completion of the programme, trainees are invited to interview for a full-time position on a 12-month apprenticeship at one of the Everyone Active operated centres in north London.

Harvey Gosling, Group Training Manager for Everyone Active, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to get hands on experience of working in the leisure industry in a variety of roles and learn some transferable skills along the way.

“The programme also guarantees an interview for our very successful apprenticeship schemes. Most of our apprentices go on to full-time jobs in Everyone Active centres so this is a great route to a career in a fun and rewarding industry.”
