If BMX racing at the Olympics stirred your interest in the sport, why not give it a go at an open day on Saturday.

Hayes Hawks BMX Club is hosting the free taster day at its track, at Lake Farm Country Park, in Dawley Road, Hayes, between noon and 3pm.

The event is part of British Cycling’s Go Ride Games, and there will be coaching and races as an introduction to the sport.

Bikes, helmets and gloves will be provided, but racers are advised to wear long trousers and a long-sleeved top.

For those preferring to stay off the track, Hillingdon Play Association is there to provide alternative fun things to do for all the family.
