A large haul of counterfeit goods were seized from a vehicle in Southall as part of Operation Cubo this week.

Hounslow officers confiscated thousands of goods which included more than 19,000 Viagra tablets, 4,260 cigarette counters, 180 packets of 50gms tobacco pouches and a dozen bottles of alcohol.

The vehicle has also been seized.

Syon neighbourhood sergeant Caroline Bayley, along with two Bedfont PC's Caroline Baxter and Matt Roberts, were conducting random vehicle stops as part of the Met's operation, on Hayes Road, Southall, on Wednesday (4).

The haul is under investigation by Trading Standards and Customs and Excise who will be carrying out tests on the products.

Bedfont neighbourhood Sgt Beth Todd, said: "The seizure of these counterfeit goods from a routine stop is a very successful outcome.

"The counterfeit goods are off the streets and through working in partnership with Trading Standards and customs the owner of the goods will be dealt with and may face prosecution or a fine or both."
