STAFF and students at Lampton School put in the leg work for Comic Relief by completing a sponsored run.

Two pupils and two teachers from the school, in Lampton Avenue, Hounslow, ran 16 miles through Richmond Park for Red Nose Day last Friday (March 15).

Their lung-bursting efforts kicked off a day of fundraising activities, including a Lampton's Got Talent contest, face-painting and a computer games challenge.

Teachers were this week still totting up how much had been raised for Comic Relief, which supports good causes across the UK and Africa.

Friday's events marked the culmination of Lampton's Send My Friend to School week, set up to help educate children in some of the world's poorest countries.

Fundraising events at the school earlier in the week included nail painting, penalty shoot-outs and Zumba dance sessions.

YOUNGSTERS at Heston Primary School proved they were well-red in aid of Comic Relief last Friday (March 15).

Pupils gave £1 each to wear their own, appropriately coloured, clothes for Red Nose Day.

A charity cake sale and the purchase of Red Noses helped bring the total raised for Comic Relief, which supports good causes across the UK and Africa, to £879.
