A fireman who rescued a heavily pregnant woman from a fire in North Kensington has been decorated.

Shaun Keen, who worked at North Kensington fire station in Ladbroke Grove, has been presented with a long service and good conduct medal to mark two decades with the London Fire Brigade. 

The 47-year-old, who is married to Deborah, 43, has two children, Kirsty 22 and Sean, 14, plus an 18 -month-old grandson.

He said: "The brigade has provide me with the opportunity to meet people from all sorts of diverse backgrounds. I've also made many friends and we've had many good laughs that I'll never forget.

"There have also been sad times, particularly after traumatic incidents that we have attended, but it is always good that we can talk things through with colleagues."
