PINNER’S X Factor hopeful Kye Sones had a more comfortable route into the next round of the TV singing contest this week as he sailed through the latest show.

Last week the 30-year-old had to endure a tense sing off to make it through but his rendition of Robbie Williams’ Let Me Entertain You on Saturday night was enough to secure the public vote this time round.

In a Halloween special Kye opened the show with his version of the hit single after a special tutoring session with the Take That star who told him “Where has that been, where has that character been. The
problems not the notes the problem is you copying that on TV.”

Before taking to the stage the Pinner singer said: “I don’t want to be back in the bottom two again so I am just going to go for it. Kitchen sink-ing it. I just want to have fun.”

Following his performance he received praise from judge Nicole Scherzinger who said: “What a great way to open the show this week, you came out strong, you came out swinging. That was very entertaining.”

Tulisa Contostavlos added: “I think tonight you have done everything you possibly can. Last week you didn’t deserve to be in the bottom two and tonight you were even better.”

Kye sailed through the public vote on Sunday night, which saw Jade Ellis, from the Girls category, face a sing off with boy band Union J, from the Groups.

Union J got the backing of Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger, meaning a shock exit for single mum Jade.
