THE brother of Pinner’s Kye Sones is drumming up support for him after he survived another week on the X Factor.

The 30-year-old secured a place in next week’s ITV1 reality TV show, despite getting poor comments from judges.

His brother, Tian Sones, who works with Kye as a chimney sweeper, said: “It was a tough week for Kye. Hopefully he will come back next week and do better. I don’t think he has shown his best yet, last week’s performance was really good but he can do much better.”

Tian, 33, and his wife Emma, have been putting posters up in shops and cafes around Pinner and Tian has even covered their chimney sweep van in them.

“It’s been really busy at work without Kye helping me out, I am doing it all by myself,” he said. “But I am so supportive of him, he is doing great.

“He has always loved music, when we were little we would go to piano lessons together in Ickenham. Kye has always wanted to be Michael Jackson. He doesn’t do it much now, but when he was younger he would dance around and sing. He sticks to the singing now.”

Kye, 30, who lives with his mother, Barbara Sones in West End Lane, Pinner, performed a song on Saturday which featured a mix of tunes from Rihanna, Dido and Eminem.

This week judge and former N-Dubz singer, Tulisa Contostavlos told Kye: “I have been a massive fan from the start, you have all the right ingredients to be an artist, however, I understand that somehow you are getting slightly lost in the competition.”

Judge Louis Walsh said Kye could do ‘an awful lot better’.

His mother, Barbara, said: “Kye likes wacky stuff, that’s just him, the mix up of songs is something that he likes and the best you can do is be yourself, that’s what he was doing. The girls go ballistic for him during the live shows, I often can’t hear what the judges are saying.”

Two acts in Kye’s over-25s category have already been booted off the show but he will be back on stage on Saturday evening.
