IN RESPONSE to your report concerning the yobs in Mrs Puri's shop [Trader fears she is being driven out by yob gang, July 9], I felt I should write in to express my disgust about the way the youth of today seem intent on conducting themselves.
I am 65 years old, and nowadays it seems I cannot even walk down my own street in peace without feeling intimidated and threatened by a gang of yobs with nothing better to do but hang about on street corners.
How has our area come to this? In my day, these kind of children would be packed off to an institution, or else properly disciplined when they were young by their parents, so this kind of thing didn't happen and they had respect for honest traders like Mrs Puri.
