The image showing a group of youths posing with a plethora of deadly weapons has got readers talking.

The shocking photo, which has gone viral, revealed five hooded youths holding objects which included a machete, hatchet and baseball bat, and was taken in an alleyway.

But nothing goes viral without inspiring a few ridiculous photoshops - we've picked a few of our favourites in the video above.

Internet users parodied the photo using a well-known condom brand, South Park characters, lightsabers, the Chuckle Brothers and even the Prime Minister.

Some readers have taken a guess at where the image was taken, while others have condemned the photo and said it was a poor reflection of the society we live in.

The image, which has been shared thousands of times on Facebook

Maxine Alexandra Grange spoke for many when she commented on the getwestlondon Facebook page : “This is so scary!”

And so did Francesca Lucy Hanlon, who said of the five youths: “Bunch of morons!”

Some were stuck by how young they looked. Jennie Mullins said: “I bet they have to be home by 9”, and Wendy Wood added: “They don’t look old enough to know which end is the right way up!”

Alarmingly, Fahad Khan did not find the image shocking. He said: “Come to any council estate and you’ll see a group of youths like this.”

Sarah Jane Field said: “Society we live in today!!!!..Well Done mums and dads!!” and Sylvia Titmuss said it “showed how our education is failing”.

Melanie Hutton called for more police on the streets, saying: “The amount of knife crimes etc are a reflection of all these cut backs the government have been doing!”

Though it is not known where the image was taken, some believe they know the answer.

Comments left suggest it is Barnhill Estate in Wembley, West Ham, while on the Get Surrey Facebook page , one comment says photo was taken in a small alleyway behind Thamesmead Secondary School in Shepperton.

Also commenting on the Get Surrey page, Gerry Emmett says: “What is wrong with the youth of today they are becoming animals in some cases.”
